From 5 to 8 December 2026, Lyon will once again transform into an open-air stage for the Fête des Lumières, one of Europe’s most captivating winter events.
Over four evenings, spectacular light installations, artistic projections and immersive visual experiences will illuminate the city’s historic landmarks, squares and streets, creating a unique atmosphere that attracts visitors from across the world.
Rooted in a local tradition dating back to 1852, the Festival of Lights has evolved into an international celebration of art, creativity and innovation. It offers an exceptional opportunity to discover Lyon from a different perspective, combining contemporary artistic expression with the city’s rich architectural heritage and renowned gastronomic culture.
Whether travelling for leisure, planning a romantic winter escape or organising an exclusive experience with family, friends or business associates, the festival provides an ideal reason to visit Lyon in December.
