The 2024 edition of the CSIO in Rome is number 91 but the link between Piazza di Siena and horse riding is even longer-standing. The debut of this unique place in the world as a setting for equestrian competitions dates back to 1922. Shortly afterwards, in 1926 the FEI included the Roman competition in the international calendar giving the deserved importance to this competition.
